Former congresswoman compares Obama to 'deranged' Germanwings pilot
In order to make her point, Bachmann compared Obama to Andreas Lubitz, the Germanwings co-pilot who stunned the world last week by allegedly deliberately crashing his passenger plane into the French Alps. All 150 people on board were killed.
"With his Iran deal, Barack Obama is for the 300 million souls of the United States what Andreas Lubitz was for the 150 souls on the German Wings flight - a deranged pilot flying his entire nation into the rocks," Bachmann wrote on Facebook.
The White House and other countries are in the middle of negotiations with Iran to curb its ability to produce nuclear weapons in exchange for rolling back economic sanctions. The details of the final detail have yet to publicly emerge and US negotiators say they won't accept a "bad deal" that enables Iran to quickly build a nuclear bomb. However, Bachmann predicted the worst.
"After the fact, among the smoldering remains of American cities, the shocked survivors will ask, why did he do it?" she asked.
Bachmann, who retired at the end of last year, is no stranger to controversial statements.
