Here Comes The Nobel Prize In Economics....
The Nobel Prize in Economics will be announced at 7 a.m. ET (1 p.m. local time in Sweden).
Here's who has the best shot at receiving the award, and what it might be given in recognition of:
- Studies on entrepreneurship. If the award is for this, Reuters think it would go to William Baumol and Israel Kirzner, both of whom have pioneered research in this area.
-
Research on growth theory. In this case, they think Harvard's Philippe Aghion and Brown University's Peter Howitt would get the Nobel.
- Work on economic sociology. In this case, Stanford's Mark Granovetter could be given the prize.
