Human remains have been found at the home of a Walt Disney World staff member, who went missing in 2015.

Authorities went to the home of monorail mechanic Michael Shaver on February 16, according to the Orlando Sentinel.

Authorities told the Sentinel that Shaver's 35-year-old wife Laurie, who said she had not heard from her husband since 2015, allowed investigators to search the home. When authorities asked to investigate the outdoor area of the home, she stopped cooperating and requested an attorney, the Sentinel said, citing the Sheriff's Office.

Mrs. Shaver also refused a police request to bring in a cadaver dog after authorities noticed what appeared to be new concrete near a fire pit in the backyard, the Sentinel said.

Authorities obtained a warrant to search the property, and discovered an arm bone on Friday, according to the Sentinel. Parts of a human skeleton and some articles of clothing were later found, it added, and handed over to the Medical Examiner's office for identification.

Authorities became aware of the Disney worker's disappearance in February, after Shaver's best friend, who had not seen the missing man since 2015, requested a well-being check, Lake County Officer Lt. John Herrell said, according to the Sentinel.

The friend had said "neither he, nor any of Shaver's family, have heard from him since 2015," Herrell added.

County sheriff's detectives are treating the disappearance as "suspicious," an agency spokesman said last month.

The Sentinel reported that Michael Shaver's sister, Stacie Shaver, said the family had tried to find the missing man "on our own."
