Ukraine has raised over $60 million in crypto to fund its war efforts with more on the way

Ukraine DAO has raised more than $6.7 million in support of Ukraine’s army by selling 10,000 non-fungible tokens (NFTs) of the Ukrainian flag.

The NFTs are created as a collaboration between political activist Nadezhda Tolokonnikova, digital artists Trippy Labs and crypto collective PleasrDAO.

All of the proceeds from the NFT sales are collected through the Party Bid platform. The proceeds are then sent across to the Come Back Alive organisation – a non-profit, which helps the Ukrainian military, volunteers and their families.

Ukraine’s vice prime minister, Mykhailo Fedorov, announced that the country’s government will be issuing NFTs to fund its military operations. The appeal has raised $54.7 million so far through the government and Ukrainian non-government organisations.

Reli3F is a web3 humanitarian initiative headed by crypto artists and prominent NFT influencers. To address the conflict between Ukraine and Russia, the collective initiated an NFT sale that included artwork from 37 artists.

The NFT project was completely sold out within 30 seconds of its initial launch, raising over $1 million. All the proceeds from the sale were sent to Ukraine.

NFT startup incubator, Forza Ikonia, has been raising funds for charities across Ukraine. This includes global organisations like Doctors without Borders and Amnesty International.

The company – which helps brands, artists and influencers mint projects that increase utility in the Metaverse space – launched an NFT project which includes 43 million editions of artwork by Filipe Posada. Each edition represents one citizen of Ukraine and is minted at $10 per edition.

ArtWaRks Ukraine is an NFT project headed by IT entrepreneurs, art historians, artists and media creators to raise money for civilians in Ukraine and the Ukrainian military.

The NFT collection has 57 pieces listed on OpenSea, each being sold for around $182.

Time Magazine has launched a web3 NFT community initiative called ‘Make Art Not War’ to raise funds for the humanitarian relief efforts underway in Ukraine.

According to the publication, the collectors have minted 10,000 NFTs from 99 collages of images. Each collage is a representation of a year in TIme’s 100-year runtime.

Save the Children estimates that there are around 7.5 million children caught amid the conflict between Ukraine and Russia. Not are they at risk of being displaced but also trauma, interruption of their education, and loss of family income.

Save the Children has over $19 million worth of appeals listed on its donations page, which includes contributions in cryptocurrency. The organisation accepts more than 60 types of tokens as payments from Bitcoin to Dogecoin.

Holy Water is looking to raise money for the people of Ukraine by selling an NFT collection curated using artwork from 500 different artists based out of the country.

The collection includes notable art from prominent Ukrainian galleries like Port Agency, Izolyatsia and Ugallery.

The organisation plans to raise at least $1 million through their efforts.

Another effort backed by art is an NFT collection created by renowned Ukrainian artist Vladimir Manzhos, also known as Waone Interesni Kazki. He’s turned his best selling pieces into NFTs to raise funds for defense funding and medical supplies. Half of the money raised through the sales will go towards this effort through Ukrainian war charities.

He aims to raise $7,000 from the NFTs. Each of the paintings is unique and one-of-kind selling for $290 a piece.

Former professional boxer from Ukraine, who has 64 wins under his belt including a gold medal from the 1996 Olympics, is collaborating with NFT artist WhIsBe to launch a collection to raise funds for Ukraine.

They have recreated 4 NFT editors of WhIsBe’s Vandal Gummy Bears in the colors of the Ukrainian flag.

The collectibles are slated to be spread across three price points – $100, $1,000 and $10,000.
