Jailed ex-Nissan boss Carlos Ghosn will reportedly speak in front of a Japanese court for this first time since his arrest in November

Former Nissan and Mitsubishi Motors chairman Carlos Ghosn will reportedly speak in front of a Japanese court for the first time on Tuesday.
Ghosn will get 10 minutes to address the court, during which he is expected to "declare his innocence and deny any wrongdoing," Bloomberg reported.
Representatives from Nissan were not immediately available for comment on the matter.
It will be the auto industry titan's first public statements in nearly two months. Ghosn was arrested shortly after landing at Tokyo Haneda Airport on November 19 and accused of underreporting roughly $44 million in income during a five-year period ending in March 2015. Ghosn has also been accused of misusing corporate assets.
The Brazilian-born Ghosn, who was fired from his chairmanship of Nissan and Mitsubishi Motors, remains the chairman and CEO of French automaker Renault. Renault owns 43% of Nissan.
He is also the mastermind behind the Renault-Nissan-Mitsubishi Alliance, which sold more than 10.6 million cars in 2017, the most of any automaker in the world.
The former Nissan boss has been held at Tokyo Detention Center since his arrest. In an interview with French publication Le Journal Du Dimanche, Ghosn's son Anthony claims his father passes his time by reading and has lost 26 pounds since the arrest after subsisting on three bowls of rice a day.
