Las Vegas Aces player hits incredible, 38-foot, game-winning shot on a stolen pass in a chaotic finish

Las Vegas Aces forward Dearica Hamby hit one of the best and most ill-advised shots of her career on Sunday to help her team advance in the WNBA playoffs.
With less than 10 seconds to go, the Aces trailed the Chicago Sky by two in an elimination game. Sky guard Courtney Vandersloot was attempting to run out the clock and avoid a foul from the Aces when she made a poor pass toward half-court that was picked off by Hamby.
Hamby, perhaps misreading the clock, which still had over seven seconds left, launched a running, 38-foot shot that banked in to give the Aces the lead.
The entire arena, including the players all looked baffled by the play and the shot.

"I was obviously in shock," Hamby told The Las Vegas Journal Review's Sam Gordon. "I almost fainted. I'm still in disbelief." She said she didn't know how much time was left when she took the shot.
Aces coach Bill Laimbeer joked, "(She) executed the play I drew up."
The Aces now advance to the semifinals where they'll play the Washington Mystics.
