Matt Damon is stranded on Mars in a new trailer for 'The Martian'

20th Century Fox has released the second trailer for Ridley Scott's highly-anticipated fall movie "The Martian," and it looks incredible.

Matt Damon plays astronaut Mark Watney who gets stranded on Mars after a mission that goes awry.

Left for dead with only limited supplies, not only does Watney need to figure out a way to let people back on Earth know he's alive, but he also has the challenge of keeping himself alive long enough for a rescue team to make their way to him.The film is based on the best-selling novel of the same name from Andy Weir.

Also starring Jessica Chastain and Kristen Wiig, "The Martian" will be in theaters October 2.
