Mercedes-Benz Reports 13% Increase In Its 2014 Sales In India

German automobile manufacturer Mercedes-Benz on Friday reported a hike of 13% in its 2014 annual sales in India at 10,201 units, a PTI report suggested. According to the luxury car maker, the sales surged owing to new launches along with network expansion.

In year 2013, Mercedes-Benz had sold a total of 9,003 units, the news agency reported.

As per a PTI report, Eberhard Kern, who is Mercedes-Benz India managing director & chief executive officer, said: “the company has recorded the highest ever sales last year in the history of Mercedes- Benz in India till date.”

Expressing satisfaction, Kern said: “Our customer-oriented efforts have paid off well. With this second consecutive successful year, we are now more confident and focused on continuing our growth momentum in India, which we achieved amidst increasingly challenging market conditions.”

In 2014, he added that Mercedes-Benz witnessed strong demand for its products last year. The company also launched various models during this period, which included flagship S-Class, E 350 CDI sedan and the all new C-Class.
