Nita Ambani is now a member of IOC's Olympic Channel Commission
Nita Ambani, who became India's first woman International Olympic Committee member last year, has now been made a member of two important commissions of the global sports governing body, including the prestigious Olympic channel and the Olympic education Commission.

Ambani would be one of the 16 members of the Olympic Channel Commission, which would be headed by United States Olympic Committee Chairman Lawrence Francis Probst.
The Madrid-based channel is estimated to be worth about $600 million for the first seven years, and was launched in August 2016 during Rio Olympics.
Talking of the Olympic Education Commission, it is a 24-member commission to be headed by Barry John Maister, an IOC member and a 1976 Olympic hockey gold medallist from New Zealand.
The IOC Athletes Commission has another Indian name in its tally, of Olympic medallist Badminton player Saina Nehwal who was appointed in October 2016.
