Actress Kirstie Alley on Saturday endorsed President Trump for a second term, writing on Twitter that "he's not a politician."

The "Cheers" and "Look Who's Talking" actress, who also endorsed Trump in 2016, took to the social media platform to declare her approval of the incumbent president's job performance.

"I'm voting for @realDonaldTrump because he's NOT a politician. I voted for him 4 years ago for this reason and shall vote for him again for this reason," she tweeted. "He gets things done quickly and he will turn the economy around quickly. There you have it folks there you have it."

Alley immediately began to trend on Twitter and the backlash to her support of Trump was immediate, with tweets popping up from users who even praised former "Cheers" star Shelley Long over the veteran actress.

Alley issued her own response, expressing disappointment that she wasn't able to state her opinion without being attacked.

"Don't think I've ever seen so much name-calling in my life," she tweeted. "Definitely not on my site here anyway. I guess I'm not allowed to have a viewpoint without being called a really nasty names by what I'm going to suppose are really nasty people."

Alley's continued support of Trump should not come as a surprise.

This past summer, Alley was highly critical of Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden, saying that he was being shielded from debating the president.

"It's pretty sad that Dems don't want Biden to Debate Trump," she tweeted. "Its like saying 'we know he can't hold his own in a debate with Trump but could hold his own with world leaders and making monumental decisions for this country.'"

Earlier in October, she called Democratic House Speaker Nancy Pelosi "evil," writing that "she gives witches a bad name."

Alley, 69, is best known for her portrayal of Rebecca Howe on the iconic NBC series "Cheers" from 1987 to 1993. In recent years, she has mostly made reality television appearances, while also taking a role on the Fox series "Scream Queens" in 2016.
