Railway Minister Suresh Prabhu today said his ministry believes in solving the problems of passengers in real time using technology.

"We have started a system in the Railways that whoever approaches us with a problem, we would solve it immediately. We believe in addressing the problems in real time," Prabhu said at an event organised by Goa Chamber of Commerce and Industry ( GCCI) in Panaji.
"There was a complaint from a woman that due to delay in train, she could not purchase milk for her child. We made sure that milk was made available at the next station," he said.

"A girl complained that a fellow passenger was troubling her, we immediately took action. We received a complaint that a ticket checker was asking for bribe, we got him arrested even before the train reached the next station," Prabhu said.
According to the Union Minister, these kind of actions were "historic".

"People have started feeling that government is working for us. We believe that justice delayed is justice denied. You cannot take the complaint now and wait for 20 years to do justice. Those who are travelling, their problems are solved immediately with digital technology," he said.

"Governance means reaching out to the people in real time, giving them relief...The railway staff has got responsiveness towards the people. We have to do a lot more, but we have already done so much," Prabhu said.
