And now, 1 litre Kwid to challenge Maruti Suzuki Alto’s supremacy in mini car market

Renault, the automaker from France, which has enjoyed a great run in India because of the success of its hatchback Kwid, has come up with a new version powered by 1.0 litre petrol engine. The new Kwid would be priced up to Rs 3.95 lakh (introductory price ex-showroom Delhi).

As of now, Kwid was being sold with an 800cc (0.8L) engine and was priced between Rs 2.64 lakh and Rs 3.73 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi).

The one with 1.0L engine would come two variants, which would be priced at Rs 3.82 lakh and Rs 3.95 lakh, respectively.

"With this launch, we look forward to welcoming more customers into the Renault family as we endeavor to aggressively build our presence in India," Renault India Country CEO & Managing Director Sumit Sawhney was quoted saying.

The company has already sold over 1.65 lakh units of this mini car since its launch last year.

The new variants would also come with added features like sport designer graphics on the doors, pro-sense seat belt pre-tensioners with load limiters etc.
