NFL players whose children followed in their footsteps

  • With less than 4% of eligible Division I players being selected in the NFL draft, it's a pretty miraculous feat to make a career as a professional football player.
  • Yet some families have beaten the odds multiple times: Every now and then the child, or, in some cases, children, of a former NFL player is drafted.
  • Perhaps even more miraculous are the "NFL families," like the Matthews clan, which has produced seven professional football players spanning three generations.
  • Other prominent football families include the Mannings, Randy Moss and his son Thaddeus, and the Longs.

Millions of kids dream of playing football in the NFL one day.

Yet some families have overcome those low odds multiple times: In fact, throughout the years there have been numerous players whose children have followed them to the NFL. There are even the "royal families" like the Mannings and Matthewses, and more low-key father-son duos like Terrence and DK Metcalf.

Keep reading to see NFL players whose kids followed in their footsteps to become football pros.
