Tata Power said its customer base in Mumbai crossed the 5 lakh mark in April.

"We are happy to have achieved this milestone and stay committed to delivering superior services at competitive prices," said Anil Sardana, Tata Power’s managing director. The company added 2 lakh new customers, consuming less than 300 units of power.

Tata Power's consumers, who use less than 300 units, constitute almost 65% of its total consumers in the city. "We are undertaking steady network expansion within the city with a focus on 11 clusters and had 695 km of cable network till March," said Sardana. The company has also added seven additional distribution sub-stations and 118 consumer sub-stations.
