Android users have plenty of choices when it comes to smartwatches. You can get it in different styles, designs and based on your requirements. Google’s proprietary operating system for Android smartwatches is Wear OS but that’s not available on most of the smartwatches. These smartwatches use their own custom OS like Samsung’s Tizen OS, OnePlus Watch OS, and Huami’s custom OS for Amazfit smartwatches. Although not Wear OS, these smartwatches still have all the features and the important apps as well.

So if you’re looking for the best non-Wear OS smartwatches, here’s a list.

OnePlus Watch

The OnePlus Watch runs its own custom OS built on top of RTOS (real-time operating system) which is called ‘OnePlus Watch OS’. It comes in a 46mm watch case with a 2.5D curved glass on top, and a 1.39-inch AMOLED display. The smartwatch can be used to make and receive calls, control music playback, find your phone, and as a remote camera. It offers up to 14 days of battery life and has Warp Charge that should give you a day’s power in five minutes or a week’s power in 20 minutes. The OnePlus Watch also has blood oxygen saturation measuring, sleep and stress tracking, and sedentary reminder. It also offers over 110 workout types, and has 5ATM as well as IP68 for water and dust resistance.

Huawei GT 2 Sport

The Huawei GT 2 Sport is another non-Wear OS smartwatch that is highly recommended. It runs on the company’s Huawei Lite OS, and is compatible with both Android and iOS devices. The smartwatch features a 1.39-inch AMOLED touchscreen display with a 3D glass layered on top. It is powered by the Kirin A1 processor, and offers a 2-week battery life. You can also locally store up to 500 songs on the Huawei Watch GT 2 and pair it with the Huawei FreeBuds 3. The smartwatch can be used to measure your blood oxygen levels, as well as monitor your heart rate and sleep.

Samsung Galaxy Watch 3

The Galaxy Watch 3 runs on Samsung’s Tizen OS for smartwatches. It comes in two sizes of 41mm and 45mm, and can be used with both Android and iOS. The smartwatch features a 1.4-inch Super AMOLED display. It also has a rotating bezel for app navigation. The Galaxy Watch 3 features enhanced running analysis, sleep tracking, blood oxygen measurement, and over 120 home workout programs. It is also capable of detecting when you fall and alert your emergency contact about it. The Galaxy Watch 3 should last you for more than a day on a single charge.

Samsung Galaxy Watch Active 2

The Galaxy Watch Active 2 is a cheaper alternative to the Galaxy Watch 3. It features a 1.4-inch Super AMOLED display with customisable Always-On watch faces. The smartwatch offers 24/7 activity tracking that can detect four stages of sleep, heart rate monitoring and stress monitoring as well. It also comes with 50m water resistance so you can wear it while swimming. The Galaxy Watch Active 2 comes in three colour options of black, gold and silver with corresponding straps.

Amazfit GTR 2e

The Amazfit GTR 2e is a good choice in the budget price range but it runs on Huami’s custom OS for smartwatches so you don’t get support for third-party apps like Spotify. But if that’s not an issue then you can definitely go for this. The Amazfit GTR 2e features a 1.39-inch AMOLED display with an Always-On mode. It comes with a built-in GPS and offers a 24-hour battery life. The smartwatch can also be used to measure your blood oxygen levels as well as stress levels. It comes with over 90 sports modes and 5 ATM water resistance so you can take it for swims. The Amazfit GTR 2e smartwatch also offers sleep monitoring with reports on light, deep and REM sleep.

HUAWEI Watch GT Sport

The Huawei Watch GT Sport is another option you can consider in the budget segment. It features a 1.39-inch AMOLED display and runs on the company’s software. This smartwatch should last for two weeks with 22 hours of continuous exercise tracking with heart rate monitoring and GPS on. Speaking of which, it offers real-time personal measurement of your heart rate. It also monitors your sleep and offers more than 200 potential suggestions for better sleep. The Huawei Watch GT Sport offers a professional assessment of your cycling sessions, and it has multiple sports modes as well.
