This artist draws lifelike portraits using only one color. Derin Fletcher starts each piece with a color study. She uses this to test the color palette. She sketches the face with colored pencils and sands it to give the piece texture. Then she'll start shading in the face very lightly. Derin will add more pressure as she goes to create more detail. The finished portraits have three layers of color.
