The Economic Times has come up with a list of top 10 mid & small cap stocks, which also showcases a comparison of the last price traded (LTP) on March 30th 2014 and March 31st 2015. Besides, the list also revealed the return secured by these top 10 stocks. Here goes the list:
The financial daily further added that in the financial year 2015, the S&P BSE Sensex might have rallied just about 25% , but the BSE Small and Mid-cap index managed to stay ahead of the benchmark index by rallying more than 50%.

If we believe what experts told the ET, the correction in large caps is followed by a nasty fall in the broader markets in most of the market corrections.

They further added that maximum numbers of the quality midcap stocks are available at cheaper valuations. Fund managers got the perfect reason to purchase the stocks aggressively after these registered a drastic fall.

Deven Choksey, MD, K R Choksey Securities, told the ET, “I cannot name them for the regulatory purpose, but the fact is that there are many companies which are available at really good valuations, which one can hold on for long time investments."

A large number of foreign investors, who developed a deep understanding regarding investment in India, have also recognised that the midcap segment will undergo the next big drive. Abhay Laijawala, MD & HoR, Deutsche Equities India, informed ET that "We are beginning to see that many of the experienced FIIs are willing to go beyond the market capitalisation cushions. They have been the drivers of the market.”

“For those investors, it may be difficult to look at the midcaps at this point in time. But, for the seasoned FIIs, we are seeing that change happening. They are willing. In fact, they are asking for midcap coverage," he added. (Image 1: Thinkstock, Image 2: The Economic Times)
