Virasat-e-Khalsa, a Sikh museum in Punjab enter Asia Book of Records with the highest number of visitors in a day

The Virasat-e-Khalsa, a Sikh museum in Anandpur Sahib in Punjab, is all set to enter the Asia Book of Records for witnessing the most number of visitors in a day.

As many as 20,569 people visited the museum on March 20, reported the Hindu citing Vikas Pratap, Secretary, Department of Tourism and Cultural Affairs, Punjab. So far, 10 million people visited the museum.


The museum is spread across 6,500 square meters, and narrates the history and culture of Punjab and Sikhism.

If it enters the Asia Book of Records, this will be its third record. Previously, Virasat-e-Khalsa has entered into the Limca Book of Records and India Book of Records

It is the top-ranked museum in the country with an average footfall of 5,000-6,000 visitors a day.

It also helped grow the economy of Anandpur Sahib in Punjab, as it employs 300 people. The revenue of the museum shops increased by five times in 7 years.

So far, 10 million people have visited the 8-year-old museum.

The museum has two parts. The first part has 14 galleries, and the second part has 13 galleries.
