Undergraduate students fromTeamKART - a students’ project under the Department of Mechanical Engineering of IIT Kharagpur - are absolutely killing it with their car innovations. Their models have garnered much accolades previously, and this has kept the team going strong for the last few years.
‘K-3′, their fourth car, is all set to hit an international competition in Russia this September, alongside 30 others from students all over the world.
Weighing 220 kg owing to the carbon fibre body panels, K-3 provides fuel efficiency of 15 kmpl which is better than K-2's performance. Students have previously come out with four prototypes and taken them to competitions each year.

As the students gear up for September, the month they hit the competition with their cars, some of the biggest car companies have their eyes on these prototypes because let's face it - it's too good to be ignored!
