Domino's New Chicken Product Is Unlike Anything We've Ever Seen
Domino's
The chain just announced it is going to start selling a dish called Specialty Chicken. The product is unlike anything else we've seen on the market.
"The boneless chicken product features a delicious combination of toppings, sauces and cheeses layered over twelve bites of lightly breaded, 100% whole breast white meat chicken," Domino's wrote in a news release emailed to journalists.
Basically, Domino's is selling breaded chicken covered in sauce and other toppings.
Flavors include Crispy Bacon & Tomato, Spicy Jalapeno-Pineapple, Classic Hot Buffalo, and Sweet BBQ Bacon.
The chicken is available starting today.
Venessa Wong at Bloomberg Businessweek notes that the specialty chicken is part of a larger trend in the restaurant industry.
"Boneless chicken sales in the industry grew 11 percent in the three years ended February 2013, according to NPD data cited by Domino's," Wong writes. "Since the new dish is an easy add-on to a pizza order, it has potential to boost the average check."
