Here comes Alcoa...

Aluminum and industrial metals producer Alcoa is expected to report earnings before the opening bell on Tuesday.

Analysts expect the firm to post earnings per share of $0.34 and revenue of $5.33 billion. This will be the final earnings before Alcoa splits into two companies - Arconic and Alcoa Corporation - on November 1.

This marks the unofficial start of the third quarter earnings season, in which most of the largest companies in the US report their results over the next three weeks.

Prior to the earnings, Alcoa's stock is little changed, up 0.6% in pre-market trading at $31.70 per share.
