Huawei running ahead of targets; all set to deliver 100 million handsets

A recent internal memo reviewed by Reuters stated that the world’s fourth-biggest smart phone maker Huawei Technologies Co Ltd is running ahead of its scheduled shipments. The report also stated that the Chinese firm will meet the target of 100 million handsets before the end of this year.
As per an Economic Times report, the head of the company's consumer business,Richard Yu sent a memo to the staff informing them about the developments. The memo read that that company, since May, has recorded monthly global smart phone shipments of more than 10 million.
Last year in 2014, the firm had shipped a sum of 75 million smart phones which was lesser than its original sales target of 80 million. Earlier, on Monday,Huawei reported a 30% boost in first-half 2015 revenue to 175.9 billion yuan ($28.3 billion) and ensured that it would achieve "effective growth" in 2015.
As per the research firm Gartner, the company had a 5.4% share of the global smart phone market in the first quarter of this year, a distant fourth behindSamsung Electronics , Apple Inc and Lenovo Group Ltd.
