Mark Hamill as Luke Skywalker in "Star Wars: The Force Awakens."

Put this under the category of "Never hurts to ask."

Answering a tweet from a fan who asked what he can say about the next episode of the "Star Wars" saga, Mark Hamill replied that production on the film will wrap on July 22.

Here's the tweet:

The date is key for anyone attending the San Diego Comic Con July 21-24 because this "Star Wars: Episode VIII" end date likely means that none of the key cast will be attending (though there's always the chance of something via video).

"Episode VIII" currently is untitled so Comic Con would be a good setting for the a title announcement, if not sooner at "Star Wars" Celebration Europe in London July 15-17, which Hamill, who plays Luke Skywalker in the saga, and "VIII" director Rian Johnson will be attending.

"Star Wars: Episode VIII" opens in theaters December 15, 2017.
