In pursuit of cashless economy, Modi kickstarts a mobile banking workshop for PMO officials

Prime Minister Narendra Modi ’s decision to demonetize Rs. 500 and Rs. 1000 currency notes have certainly been a major decision from the govt but it has also earned Modi some backlash from various quarters. But Modi stands strong on his decision and has called the nation to go for cashless transactions.
In order to push the idea of a cashless economy, the Prime Minister’s office conducted a training workshop for its staff in mobile banking. "The workshop aimed to train and initiate them in the process of mobile banking and conducting daily transactions through mobile applications such as UPI, e-wallets etc," an official release said.
Officers demonstrated the process of cashless transactions and helped their staff members download the relevant mobile apps on their phones, it added.
Officials from theState Bank of India and MyGov were also present on the occasion. "Officers, including Principal Secretary Nripendra Misra and Additional Principal Secretary P.K. Mishra, conducted a workshop for the staff of the Prime Minister's Office, located at 7, Lok Kalyan Marg," release said.
