Rajesh Sakre, who studied till Class 5, fought top notch lawyers and won a case against State Bank of India (SBI).
Sakre, who hails from a village in Bhopal city, registered a case against the bank in 2011 when he found out that Rs 9,200 were missing from his account.

Reportedly, Sakre had Rs 20,000 in his bank account and withdrew Rs 10,800 on December 23, 2011. After two days, when he again went to withdrew money, he saw the account was clean and there was no money.

He registered a complaint with top officials of the bank but his grievances fell on deaf ears. After running from pillar to post, he decided to take up the matter in District Consumer Disputes Redressal Forum.

Since he did not have money, he fought his own case and how. The bank argued that the tea vendor had withdrawn money himself but failed to provide any CCTV footage for the same.

The court ruled the case in Sakre’s favour and directed the bank to return Rs 9,200 along with 6% interest within two months.

Also, SBI has been asked to pay Rs 10,000 for mental anguish caused to Sakre and another sum of Rs. 2,000 for his legal expenses.
