The 24 best private high schools in the Northeast

The American Northeast is littered with private high schools - many of them prestigious feeders for top colleges.

Niche, a company that researches and compiles information on schools, just released its 2016 rankings of the best private high schools in the country, and 24 of the top 50 can be found across the Northeast.

The ranking looked at over 8,000 private schools across the US, rating each on its composite SAT and ACT scores, four-year matriculation rate, and student-teacher ratio, as well as the caliber of colleges that graduates attend and survey responses from students and parents.
