The most competitive college in America isn't in the Ivy League

However, despite the cutthroat nature of Ivy League admissions, the most competitive college in America had already released its acceptances. This year, for the Class of 2019, Stanford accepted 1,402 students out of a pool of 42,487 applicants - a 5.05% acceptance rate. This was both the largest applicant pool and lowest acceptance rate in Stanford's history.
Since 2013, Stanford University has admitted the lowest percentage of student applicants in the US.
Harvard University - the most competitive school in the Ivy League - accepted 1,990 of 37,305 applicants this year, for a 5.3% acceptance rate. This was also the largest applicant pool and lowest acceptance rate in Harvard's history.
