- The New Yorker cut ties with Ryan Lizza over sexual misconduct.
- Lizza was one of the magazine's most prominent journalists.
The New Yorker on Monday announced that it had cut ties with high-profile political reporter Ryan Lizza following sexual misconduct allegations.
"The New Yorker recently learned that Ryan Lizza engaged in what we believe was improper sexual conduct. We have reviewed the matter and, as a result, have severed ties with Lizza. Due to a request for privacy, we are not commenting further," the magazine said in a statement.
Lizza has been one of the most high-profile political journalists in America for years, penning lengthy profiles about former President Barack Obama, among others.
Earlier this year, Lizza reported on an expletive-filled conversation he had with President Donald Trump's then-communications director Anthony Scaramucci that preceded his departure from the White House after just one week.
CNN, where Lizza is a contributor, did not return Business Insider's request for comment.
