The Indian government released inflation data for December 2022, which showed that the inflation rate was at 4.95%. This is lower than the inflation rate in October 2022, which was 5.89%. The main reason for the decline in inflation in December is that prices of food articles, mineral oils, crude petroleum and natural gas, food products, textiles and chemicals and chemical products all decreased. Meanwhile, the inflation rate based on the Consumer Price Index was 5.88% in November.
