Trump's ex-wife claims he offered her an ambassadorship when he became president
"He's still asking me for advice," she told CBS reporter Jim Axelrod in an interview that will air in full on Sunday. "He asks me about, 'Should I tweet, should I not tweet.'"
Ivana said she encourages the president to tweet.
"I said, 'I think you should tweet. It's a new way, a new technology," she said. "And if you want to get your words across rightly, without telling The New York Times, which is going to twist every single word of yours, this is how you get your message out.'"
Ivana, a Czech-American businesswoman and former model, also said the president offered her an ambassadorship that she declined, saying that she would be loathe to abandon her current lifestyle.
"Donald told me. He said, 'Ivana, if you want it, I give it to you,'" she said. "But I like my freedom. I like to do what I want to do, go wherever I want to go with whomever I want to go. And I can afford my lifestyle. Okay, why would I go and say bye-bye to Miami in the winter, bye-bye to Saint-Tropez in the summer, and bye-bye to spring and fall in New York? I have a perfect life."
Ivana, 68, has been married and divorced twice since she and Trump split in 1992 and is now promoting her new advice book, "Raising Trump."
