On Tuesday, a group of 13 banks, which India’s biggest lender State Bank of India was heading, approached the Supreme Court so that an order could be passed to prevent liquor baron The amount that Mallya owes to these banks runs up to over Rs 9,000 crore, the reason why the banks wanted him to be in the country under their watchful eyes, especially after he had claimed a few days back that he wants to make London his home now.
When contacted by ET, Mallya's spokesperson said that since he was communicating through mails, his present location remains unknown.
