Washout of monsoon session would cost tax payers heavy money

Tax payers would have to pay heavy price of Rs. 260 crore for the washout of monsoon session of Parliament, Rs 162 crore in Lok Sabha and Rs 98 crore in Rajya Sabha.

1. Washout of week 1 of monsoon session

Parliament did not function for 91 per cent of its scheduled time.

One hour of Lok Sabha costs exchequer Rs 1.5 crore, Rajya Sabha Rs 1.1 crore.

11 pending bills, 9 new bills to be introduced and one to be taken up for consideration and passing.

Land Acquisition Bill. SC and ST (prevention of atrocities) Amendment Bill 2014.

4. In Rajya Sabha

Whistleblowers Protection (amendment) Bill 2015 Mental health care Bill, 2013 Prevention of Corruption (Amendment) Bill 2013 Child Labour Amendment Bill 2012 Real Estate (regulation & development) Bill 2013 Juvenile Justice Amendment Bill 2015 Constitution (122nd) Amendment Bill 2014.

5. Financial business

Discussion and voting on demands for excess grants (railways). Discussion and voting on supplementary demand for grants (general) for 2015-2016.

6. People have a lot of expectations from MPs. We need to work towards fulfilling those. The world is watching.

7. Parliament will not function till resignations (of Sushma Swaraj & Vasundhara Raje) happen.
