When govt held the biggest start up event in India in January this year, Travis Kalanick was expected to speak at the event. He was supposed to take a flight from Beijing in China to New Delhi but it was only when he reached the new Delhi airport that he realized he didn't have a visa!
He says it was a tough time getting in the country. So he called the head of NITI AayogAmitabh Kant to get him in the country but it wasn't as simple, as Kant had to call the officials at the external affairs ministry in the middle of the night to let him enter India. After a lot of back and forth in the govt offices in the middle of the night he could final step out of the airport without a visa.
Well clearly, now we now know what Kalanick wants he gets.
