Big ticket recruiters Microsoft, Oracle, Uber shower up to Rs 1.2 crore annual salary packages on IITians as placements get rolling

As the placement season took over, the first day at IITs saw students bagging a total of 138 offers, 12 per cent higher than last year.

The offers handed out were not disappointing either as nearly a dozen students from the older IITs at Kanpur, Delhi, Mumbai, Roorkee, Guwahati, Kharagpur and Madras bagged annual salary offers of Rs 90 lakh to Rs 1.15 crore on the first day of placements.
