These are the upcoming bike launches in India as comes out from under the COVID-19 lockdown

The coronavirus induced lockdown has battered sales of India’s automobile sector, but that is not stopping automakers from announcing and launching new two-wheelers to woo customers.

The automobile industry is now planning to be aggressive by launching a raft of new vehicles in 2020. The majority of the two-wheeler market share comes from rural areas in India, and analysts expect rural sales to drive the automobile industry out of the coronavirus woes. The analysts think the impact of the pandemic has been relatively less outside the big cities like Mumbai, Delhi, Chennai and Bengaluru.

The stocks of two-wheeler companies like Hero Moto, Honda, Eicher and the likes have reflected some of the optimism as the government eased the lockdown.

​Royal Enfield Meteor 350

Automaker Royal Enfield is all set to launch the new Royal Enfield Meteor 350 by the end of June this year.

According to reports, the new bike has a fuel-cap placed right in the centre along with the new alloy wheel design, unlike the previous models. The all-new Meteor 350 is expected to cost around ₹1.75 lakh.

In comparison to its predecessor the Thunderbird 350, the Meteor 350 will have a double downtube frame instead of a single downtube frame.

The bike’s main competition in the Indian market will be Bajaj Dominar 250, Benelli Imperiale 400 and Jawa.

​Hero Xtreme 160R

Hero MotoCorp has now opened up registrations for the test drive of its all-new Hero Xtreme 160R. The coronavirus pandemic delayed the launch of the bike, which was expected to hit the showroom earlier.

The bike has a 160cc air-cooled BS-VI compliant engine with electronic fuel injection technology.

Its price is expected to be between ₹90,000 to ₹95,000. Its main competitors in the Indian market will be Bajaj Pulsar NS160, Suzuki Gixxer BS6, TVS Apache RTR 160 4V BS6, and Yamaha FZ FI V3 BS6.

​Yamaha FZ25 and FZS25

Yamaha is all set to launch two new models of BS6 Yamaha FZ25 and FZS25. FZ25 will be launched in two colour options Metallic Black and Racing Blue, whereas the later, FZS25 will have three colour range from Patina Green, Dark Matt Blue to White Vermilion.

The two bikes are also expected to have a single-cylinder, air-cooled 249cc engine, offering up to 20.5 horsepower. Yamaha FZ25 and FZS25 are expected to be priced around ₹1.43 lakh. Its main competitors will be Suzuki Gixxer 250 and the Bajaj Dominar 250.

​BS6 TVS Victor 110

TVS Motor Company is all set to launch the all-new BS6 Victor 110 in India. The company said that the engine is now 15% more fuel-efficient than its previous BS6 110cc models.

The Victor 110 model is expected to get a fuel-injected engine, just like other BS6 models. The new bike is expected to have a price hike of somewhere around ₹ 5,000 as compared to the old BS4 model which ranged around ₹56,622. The BS6 TVS Victor 110 will rival against the Bajaj Platina 110 H-Gear and the Hero Passion Pro BS6 in India.

Kawasaki Z900

The 2020 Kawasaki Z900 which was unveiled at the 2019 EICMA is all set to hit the showroom somewhere around this month. The bike is expected to price somewhere in the range of ₹8 lakh and falls in the range of premium bikes.

The new-generation model is Euro 5-compliant and meets the BS6 emission standards. The official bookings of the new bike have already commenced across India and can be pre-booked by paying a token sum of ₹50,000.
