Honda CB350 vs RE Classic 350 vs Jawa Classic – the battle of the mid-range retro segment

Honda has launched the CB350, the company’s latest offering in the 350-cc segment and its most affordable offering yet. The 350cc segment has been dominated by Royal Enfield with the Classic 350 ruling the retro look market for a long time now, but the competition looks to be heating up. Mind you, Honda offers H’ness 350 which has a more modern look and takes on the likes of RE Hunter.

The Jawa Classic is another option in this retro-look segment which caters to riders that seek a no-nonsense classic motorcycle.

In this post, we compare the new Honda CB350 with the RE Classic 350 and the Jawa Classic – a battle of the entry level retro-looking, midrange powered bikes.

Price

Honda

The Honda CB350 is priced starting at ₹ 2 lakh ex-showroom Delhi, and goes up to ₹ 2.18 lakh. On the other hand, the RE Classic 350 is priced starting at ₹ 1.93 lakh ex-showroom Delhi and goes up to ₹ 2.24 lakh. The Jawa Classic is priced starting at ₹ 1.81 lakh and goes up to ₹ 2.03 lakh.

Design

The Honda CB350, RE Classic 350 and the Jawa Classic feature a similar design language, featuring a retro-classic design. The tank on the CB350 is now rounder, making it more identical to the RE Classic 350 and the Jawa Classic.

The CB350 does come with a modern touch, featuring a semi-digital instrument cluster and offering smartphone connectivity. While the Jawa Classic features an analogue cluster, the RE Classic 350 features a semi-digital instrument cluster.

Engine

The newly launched Honda CB350 is powered by a 348.36cc, single-cylinder 4-stroke air-cooled engine with a 5-speed gearbox. The RE Classic 350 is equipped with a 349.34 cc air-cooled single-cylinder 4-stroke engine with a 5-speed gearbox.

Coming to the Jawa Classic, it features a 294.72cc liquid-cooled, single-cylinder 4-stroke engine with a 6-speed gearbox.

Performance

Jawa

Starting with the Honda CB350, it delivers a power output of 20.8bhp at 5,500rpm and 29.4Nm of peak torque. The RE Classic 350 delivers 20.2bhp of power at 6100rpm and 27Nm of peak torque. The Jawa Classic on the other hand delivers 26.94 bhp of power and 26.84Nm of peak torque.
