Guar gum futures plunge 3.99 pc on muted demand

New Delhi, Mar 16 () Guar gum prices on Monday plunged 3.99 per cent to Rs 5,345 per five quintal in futures market as traders offloaded their holdings in line with weak trend at spot market.

On the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, guar gum for March delivery fell by Rs 222, or 3.99 per cent, to Rs 5,345 per five quintal in 1,135 lots.

Guar gum for April delivery eased by Rs 226, or 3.99 per cent, to Rs 5,439 per five quintal in 51,330 lots.

Marketmen said trimming of positions by participants amid weak demand mainly dragged down guar gum prices here. VHP SHWSHW
