Agri-fintech startup Hesa on Tuesday said it had tied up with virtual auctioning platform Oxecart, which enables stock-like trading for agri produce, to provide the right market linkages for local farmers.

With this partnership, Oxecart also aims to be the fastest farm-to-business platform by 2025. The agri-fintech startup has connected over 30 lakh rural consumers in 27000 villages in 28 districts of Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Karnataka, Maharashtra and over 35000 ‘Hesaathis’.

Its technology is capable of connecting 140 million farmers to 20 million plus retailers, the company said. The company claims it has helped farmers earn up to 20% more by increasing the reach of their produce.

“Hesa has always believed in giving more varied products and services on its rural tech (rural e-commerce) platform. This partnership also allows our partners to excel and grow in their chosen industry/field, having a user-friendly product and geographical strength will only help in any kind of alliances we forge going forward,” said Vamsi Udayagiri, co-founder and CEO, Hesa.

He further added, “ We firmly believe in the scope of technology in the agriculture field and aim to impact the lives of farmers through our Hesaathis in a more positive manner through this alliance.”

The Oxecart platform will help millions of rural farmers by allowing them access to modern technology to trade their produce from the comfort of their homes, the company said.

“Combining our deep tech stack with Hesa’s rural network alleviates the digital divide problem by bringing farmers and their buyers into the digital society in a manner that is economically beneficial to both parties,” said Madhu Yaduguri, co-founder and CEO at Oxecart.
