Capgemini displaces HCL to grab place in top 5 IT employers in India

Capgemini, the multinational consulting firm from Paris, France, is now one of India’s top 5 IT employers, as per 2015-16 data released by industry lobby Nasscom, displaying HCL Technologies to grab the 5th place.

A year before that, Capgemini held the seventh position.

"India is today the delivery backbone of the group and will continue to play a significant role going forward. We have consolidated our training facilities in Pune and Mumbai and training and development will be a key focus on the people front in India going forward," Srinivas Kandula, Capgemini India CEO told ET.

The list is topped by TCS, with infosys coming at the second spot. The third and fourth spots have been grabbed by Cognizant and Wipro.

These rankings have come at a time when these IT giants are facing tough times because of bad numbers in the April-June quarter. While Wipro’s growth is dull with a 0-1% topline growth forecast for the next quarter, Infosys has also delivered a bad performance.
