Chris Christie: Reporters should have rioted after Hillary Clinton roped them off

New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie (R) on Monday blasted former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton for her July 4th parade restrictions.

"It's outrageous. It's outrageous. I mean, I've never seen a political candidate who wants to have such little contact with people," Christie said in Monday interview on Fox News.

Christie, who like Clinton is a 2016 presidential candidate, was reacting to the Democratic frontrunner Clinton's march in a Saturday parade in New Hampshire.

Clinton's campaign drew a storm of criticism for literally roping the press away from her as she walked down the street. Her aides defended the move as necessary to let her interact with voters, but the images were quite stunning:

Christie argued that "the press needs to fight back" and that there would have been a media mutiny if he had tried the same thing last weekend.

"The media wouldn't allow this to happen with any of the Republican candidates. If we tried to put a rope line around the media when we were at our parade in Wolfeboro, New Hampshire, on Saturday, there would have been a riot right then," he said. "Why not for Mrs. Clinton?"
