Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer responded to President Donald Trump on Twitter Thursday morning, tweeting "#BeBest" in reference to first lady Melania Trump's policy initiative to combat bullying on social media.

Schumer was responding to Trump's earlier attack on him.

"Senator Cryin' Chuck Schumer fought hard against the Bad Iran Deal, even going at it with President Obama, & then Voted AGAINST it! Now he says I should not have terminated the deal - but he doesn't really believe that! Same with Comey. Thought he was terrible until I fired him!" Trump tweeted.

Schumer, who represents Trump's home state of New York in the Senate and also claims an outerborough of New York City as his home, responded minutes later. The first lady announced her "Be Best" program on Monday afternoon in the Rose Garden.

The initiative, which is geared to address some of the major societal issues facing children today, was designed in part to help highlight the importance of using social media in a positive way.

Schumer originally opposed the Iran deal in 2015 but said it would be a mistake to walk away from it now.
