From dogecoin to bitcoin to polkadot, over 100,000 separate crypto donations have been made to Ukraine in a week

• Ukraine has received over 100,000 separate transactions of crypto donations.
• On February 26, Ukraine tweeted out a call for crypto donations, and has collected over $50 million.

Over 100,000 unique transactions have sent crypto donations to Ukraine since its government tweeted a call for aid last week, according to blockchain analytics firm Elliptic.

On February 26, the official Twitter of the Ukrainian government posted wallet addresses for bitcoin and ethereum transactions.

Since then, the type of cryptos being sent has expanded to include dogecoin and polkadot, and the total amount of funding has skyrocketed.

"The Ukrainian government – and an NGO providing support to the military – have raised $54.7 million, through more than 102,000 cryptoasset donations since the start of the Russian invasion," wrote Elliptic in a blog post.

On March 1, the Ukraine government tweeted that it would accept Polkadot contributions for the war effort, and on March 2 the Vice Prime Minister of Ukraine announced the country was accepting dogecoin, and even called on Elon Musk to support.

The founder of Polkadot, Gavin Wood, pledged a $5 million donation of polkadot.

Come Back Alive, a Ukrainian NGO, has received "several million dollars" in crypto, according to Elliptic. Additionally, UkraineDAO auctioned off an NFT of the Ukrainian flag for millions in ether, which will be donated to the NGO.

Other notable donations include $10 million from Binance, and $1 million from Reli3f that it raised in 30 seconds selling NFTs.
