Dell to buy EMC for $67 billion in biggest technology acquisition ever

Dell would buy EMC in for a whopping $67 billion. This is the largest acquisition ever in the technology sector.

The offer is set at $33.15 per share in cash and special stock. EMC shares were up 3.9% at $29.08 in pre-market trading.

"The combination of Dell and EMC creates an enterprise solutions powerhouse, Michael Dell, chairman and chief executive of the joint company said.

The deal will help Dell tap into the data business amidst slipping demand for computers globally.
