10 shows to watch next if you're still reeling from the 'Loki' finale

Summary: "Doctor Who" is about the adventures of a regenerating Time Lord from Gallifrey who goes by the title of The Doctor. With his blue police-box time machine, high intelligence, and sonic screwdriver, The Doctor travels through time and space to protect the innocent and make friends along the way.

The Doctor particularly has a love for planet Earth, and throughout the 60-year-long series, The Doctor brings certain humans along with him on his wild ride.

Why you'll like it: If you love grand sci-fi world-building and incredible dramatic acting and scripting, "Doctor Who" is a must-watch. Plus, there are plenty of time-travel shenanigans.

Summary: Dr. Sam Beckett (Scott Bakula) is part of a project to create a machine that will send people back in time within one's own lifetime. When he tests it on himself, he instead is sent into the bodies of other people throughout history.

Due to his partial amnesia about his own real identity, Sam is helped out by the hologram of a friend, Al Calavicci (Dean Stockwell). Together, they must correct a wrong in the past so Sam can leap into another body until he makes it back to his own time.

Why you'll like it: "Quantum Leap" is one of the godfathers of time-travel media; if you love the genre, it's a must-watch. The compelling performances of Bakula and Stockwell will also keep you coming back for more.

The original "Quantum Leap" and its 2022 reboot are both streaming on Peacock.

Summary: To stop the apocalypse from occurring, special operatives from the future called "travelers" are sent into the bodies of people in the past. They soon discover that, despite their training, it is a lot harder to blend in and complete their missions than they initially thought.

Why you'll like it: If you're interested in the ethics of changing the past, which is a reoccurring theme in "Loki," this underrated time-travel drama covers this topic even better.

"Travelers" is streaming on Netflix.

Summary: In 1989, 43 women around the world gave birth at the exact same time despite not being pregnant before that moment. Each child appears to have some special ability, and billionaire Sir Reginald Hargreeves (Colm Feore) adopted seven of them to turn them into superheroes.

This alone would be an interesting enough concept to follow. But "The Umbrella Academy" also jumps years into the future to when the remaining heroes are now adults, no longer part of a superhero team and all dealing with mountains of trauma.

When their adopted father mysteriously dies and their brother No. 5 (Aidan Gallagher) returns from his travels in the future, they have to learn to rebuild their family in order to stop the apocalypse.

Why you'll like it: Similar to Loki's mission in season two, 5 is on a mission to stop a major catastrophic event. If you like a high-stakes drama mixed with mysteries to solve, "The Umbrella Academy" is for you.

Summary: While the Marvel Cinematic Universe started getting to time travel and the multiverse relatively recently, DC has been playing with the concept since 2014 with the CWs's "Arrowverse."

In "Legends of Tomorrow," a Time Master (Arthur Darvill) goes rogue from his organization and recruits a group of mercenaries, villains, and superheroes who are unimportant to their timeline to stop a major villain. After discovering the truth, this group of misfits decides to take their destinies into their own hands and become Legends.

Why you'll like it: "Legends of Tomorrow," like "Loki," also plays around with the theme of a "sacred timeline" and whether it is possible or justifiable to change past events.

"DC's Legends of Tomorrow" is streaming on Netflix.

Summary: "Legion" is an often-confusing, wild psychological thriller based on the obscure X-Men hero Legion. David Haller (Dan Stevens) is a schizophrenic man who has been committed to a psychiatric hospital.

However, when he is involved in the murder of a fellow patient, he is hunted by a government agency and forced to join a ragtag group of mutants.

Why you'll like it: "Legion" is another show based on Marvel Comics and filled with mysteries that are slowly revealed throughout the season, much like "Loki." Aubrey Plaza's performance is the real standout as a fascinating antagonist to Stevens' David.

"Legion" is streaming on Hulu.

Summary: "Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D" was the first TV show to run parallel to the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Agent Coulson (Clark Gregg) is mysteriously revived after being seemingly killed by Loki in "The Avengers."

He decides to form his own team of special agents to help combat the new supernatural threats in the world.

Why you'll like it: "Loki" season two addresses the question of what is the right way to save people, which is a key theme throughout every season of "Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." In fact, the show goes through its own reckoning very early on. The final few seasons involve time travel, too — although to be frank, those aren't the best seasons of the show.

"Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D" is streaming on Disney+.

Summary: With his photographic memory and knowledge of law, Mike Ross (Patrick Adams) talks his way into the job at the prestigious Pearson Hardman law firm. The only problem? The company only hires Harvard graduates, and Ross has neither completed college nor attended any law school.

Harvey Specter (Gabriel Macht), the charismatic lawyer who hired Mike, works to keep his secret while the pair investigate cases together.

Why you'll like it: OK, hear me out. Part of what makes "Loki" so enjoyable is the buddy-cop dynamic between the younger upstart Loki and the seasoned detective Mobius. There's a similar dynamic with Harvey and Mike, although they're obviously lawyers, not cops.

"Suits" is streaming on Netflix and Peacock.

Summary: Based on a book series by the same author who wrote "The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy," this short-lived BBC series is a chaotic, wild mess that makes no sense until it does.

Samuel Barnett plays Dirk Gently, a "holistic detective" who only solves mysteries after stumbling across all the clues. After Todd (Elijah Wood) becomes his reluctant sidekick, the pair get caught in multiple conspiracies.

Why you'll like it: Again, the reluctant buddy-cop elements here will be very familiar to those who love the dynamic between Loki (Tom Hiddleston) and Mobius (Owen Wilson). Plus, if you like trying to follow little clues to work out mysteries, then "Dirk Gently's Holistic Detective Agency" will be a fun challenge.

"Dirk Gently's Holistic Detective Agency" is streaming on Prime Video and AMC+.

Summary: When a con-artist named Sarah Manning (Tatiana Maslany) witnesses the suicide of a woman who looks exactly like her, she is thrown into a conspiracy involving illegal human cloning.

Why you'll like it: One of the fun parts of "Loki" is seeing the actors bring to life different variants — versions of the same character from different timelines with entirely different personalities. "Orphan Black" brings that same creativity, with Tatiana Maslany giving brilliant performance as numerous clones.
