Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom have announced the birth of their baby daughter, Daisy Dove Bloom. Perry and Bloom confirmed the birth on August 26, and gave the announcement via their partnership with UNICEF, for which they are Goodwill Ambassadors.
Perry and Bloom shared a statement with UNICEF, which was posted to the charity organization's Instagram along with a photo of the baby's tiny hand holding Perry and Bloom's fingers. "We are floating with love and wonder from the safe and healthy arrival of our daughter," Perry and Bloom said.⠀

"But we know we're the lucky ones and not everyone can have a birthing experience as peaceful as ours was. Communities around the world are still experiencing a shortage of healthcare workers and every eleven seconds a pregnant woman or newborn dies, mostly from preventable causes," Perry and Bloom said.
"Since COVID-19 many more newborn lives are at risk because of the increased lack of access to water, soap, vaccines and medicines that prevent diseases. As parents to a newborn, this breaks our hearts, as we empathize with struggling parents now more than ever."
Perry and Bloom, who both reposted UNICEF's post to their own Instagram accounts, went on to praise UNICEF for their work "on the ground, doing whatever it takes to make sure every expecting mother has access to a trained health worker and access to quality healthcare."
Perry and Bloom then said that they have set up a donation page in celebration of their daughter's birth, and encourage fans to donate: "By supporting them, you are supporting a safe start to life and reimagining a healthier world for every child. We hope your ♥️ can bloom with generosity."
Perry and Bloom previously announced that they were expecting a baby back in March this year, a year after they announced their engagement in February 2019. Before that, they were together for a year before breaking up in February 2017, but eventually getting back together in February 2018.
Daisy Dove Bloom is Perry's first child, while Bloom has a nine-year-old son named Flynn, who he shares with his ex-wife Miranda Kerr.
