Kurt Russell and his son Wyatt Russell play the same character in 'Monarch: Legacy of Monsters' — here's who else is in the cast of the 'Godzilla' spinoff show

"The Falcon and the Winter Soldier" and "Overlord" star Wyatt Russell plays Army officer Lee Shaw in the 1950s, as he works to prove to the US government that monsters exist. He faces pressure from his superiors as he tries to get Monarch off the ground with Bill Randa and Keiko. His combat and survival skills come in handy when tracking creatures like Godzilla.

"Monarch: Legacy of Monsters" isn't Kurt Russell's first science-fiction adventure. He's previously starred in "The Thing," "Stargate," and "Escape from New York."

He plays the older version of Lee Shaw in the Apple TV+ series, and he's brought out of retirement by Cate and Kentaro when they go hunting for their father in the aftermath of 2014's "Godzilla."

Comedian Anders Holm plays the younger version of Monarch scientist Bill Randa in the 1950s as he works with Lee Shaw and Keiko in getting the organization up and running. He's also tasked with getting scientific proof that Godzilla and other monsters actually exist.

Holm starred in the "Workaholics" TV series as well as Netflix's "Inventing Anna" and "The Muppets Mayhem" on Disney+.

Hollywood legend John Goodman first played Monarch scientist Bill Randa in "Kong: Skull Island," and he briefly reprises the role in "Monarch: Legacy of Monsters." Fans might remember that Randa was killed by one of the creepy Skullcrawlers in the 2017 film, but his appearance in "Monarch" takes place earlier in the timeline, before his death.

Goodman is best known for the TV show "Roseanne" and its spinoff "The Conners" and his roles in movies like "The Big Lebowski," "Monsters, Inc.," and "10 Cloverfield Lane."

Mari Yamamoto, who last appeared in Apple TV+'s "Pachinko," plays Keiko. She's a scientist working with Lee Shaw and Bill Randa in the series' 1950s timeline to investigate the emergence of monsters. In fact, it's her research that gets Shaw involved in the first place. Although Keiko's cutting-edge research is what pushes Monarch ahead in the 1950s, she has to deal with prejudice from the team's military superiors.

Anna Sawai plays Cate, a young woman who saw firsthand the devastation caused by Godzilla when he trampled through San Francisco. She still struggles to deal with the events of "G-Day" throughout the series, as she searches for answers about her mysterious father and the work he was doing at Monarch. Viewers might recognize her as Naomi from 2022's "Pachinko."

Newcomer Ren Watabe joins the series as Kentaro, Cate's brother. He's eager to discover what it is his father was doing at Monarch, and how it relates to the arrival of Godzilla and the other monsters.

"The Flash" star Kiersey Clemons plays mysterious hacker May. She gets drawn into the world of monsters and Monarch when her friend Kentaro asks for her help looking into his father's work. It isn't long before she joins Kentaro and Cate on a globe-trotting adventure. Clemons previously appeared in "Zack Snyder's Justice League," "Antebellum," and "Dope."

Unsurprisingly, there are a few Monarch employees who show up in the present day timeline in the series. One of those is Tim, played by Joe Tippett. He's a relatively normal researcher in the organization who is forced to get out from behind a keyboard and into the field after "G-Day." He played Hal Jackson in Apple TV+'s "The Morning Show," and John Ross in "Mare of Easttown."

Another Monarch operative, Duvall, is played by Elisa Lasowski. Unlike Tim, she's better suited to working out in the world rather than being stuck in an office. The French actor has previously appeared in the show "Versailles" and movies including "Hyena" and "Somers Town."
