Netflix is bringing back the beloved animated series "Avatar: The Last Airbender" as a live-action show.

The original "Avatar," which premiered in 2005, ran for three seasons on Nickelodeon. It takes place in a world divided into four nations — the Water Tribes, the Earth Kingdom, the Fire Nation, and the Air Nomads — where certain people have the ability to manipulate one of the four elements. The show follows Aang, a young airbender who is also the Avatar, the single person with the ability to bend all four elements and a responsibility to restore balance to the world.

The live-action show follows the same plot, starring young actor Gordon Cormier as Aang and Kiawentiio and Ian Ousley as his travel companions, siblings Katara and Sokka. It's set to premiere on Netflix on February 22, 2024.

Here's what the cast of the live-action show looks like compared to their animated counterparts.
