India’s largest e-commerce marketplace, Flipkart, said it now has over 100 million registered users on its platform. Flipkart claimed that the users were only on Flipkart and not Myntra and Jabong.

"With this, Flipkart becomes the first company to reach this milestone in a single country outside the United States and China. This landmark was crossed just six months after hitting the 75 million registered users mark in March 2016. Our customer base now stands at around 63% of entire wireless and wireline broadband connections in India," said Flipkart.

Flipkart is going aggressive in its strategy as it is facing tough competition from Amazon India, which recently claimed of having seller base more than that of Flipkart. Flipkart’s CEO Binny Bansal focus on improving consumer experience, which involved offline initiatives like improving delivery timelines, have worked in the favour of the company.

Flipkart also re-launched the mobile websites with some upgrades and now the website runs faster and also uses lower bandwidth.
"This is a small step in our efforts to build a platform that provides quality products accessible and affordable to millions of Indians shopping online. Since the time we sold the first book to our first customer in 2007 till today, our journey has always been about providing a superior shopping experience to our customers while continuously raising the quality of service and selection," said Flipkart CEO Binny Bansal.
