Whatsapp has at last rolled out the ability to share documents with your contacts- both on Android and iOS versions of the app.

For the moment, the document sharing is restricted only to PDF files.

In order to make use of this feature, just tap on the Share attachment options and you’ll see ‘Document’ as one of the first options. It will then direct you to your file folder in case of Android devices, from where you can choose a particular document, while in the iOS version, Whatsapp lets you share files from iCloud, Google Drive, OneDrive as well, in case they are installed on your smartphone.

The files shared can even be viewed on your media history, later on.

According to AndroidPolice, this new feature has been rolled out via what seems like a side-server switch and not an app update.

Document sharing support could be a game changer for the Facebook owned messaging app and could be the reason more businesses and organisations use the app.
