If you're in charge of picking the music for a big party, it can be anxiety-inducing to say the least.

Do you pick throwback jams for the nostalgia factor? Dance music? Rock? Or should you try for a chilled out acoustic mood?

I've just discovered a Spotify playlist that totally solves this problem.

It's simply called "Top 100 tracks currently on Spotify" and I'm considering it my crowd-sourced shortcut to crowd-pleasing music.

The list simply consists of Spotify users' 100 most streamed songs of the moment.

That means they're picked using a massive focus group of a reported 60 million followers.

Check out the first few tracks when I first found the playlist on Friday. Pretty good mix of fun and chilled out, right?

Spotify

After listening to a few songs using the list on Friday, I came to the conclusion that Spotify's favorite songs are good enough for me. The party-friendly playlist was fun, fresh, and not so dancey or in-your-face to take over the party. It's perfect for any social gathering.

Of course, it's not totally exempt from FM radio hits. The latest One Direction single was present when I checked the list on Friday. But hey, it wasn't so bad! And most of the songs are bouncy and upbeat, like OMI's "Cheerleader" and Disclosure and Sam Smith's "Omen."

I'm definitely bookmarking this playlist for my next soirée. Click here to check it out.
